Everything you need to write about Mise.
The one-liner
"Mise takes the mental load of feeding your family off your plate. It plans your meals, builds your grocery list, and adds everything to your grocery cart automatically. Allergen management, live pricing, and smart rules are built in."
From the founder
“I was spending more time planning dinner than actually cooking it. I built Mise so other families could get that time back.”
— Lauren, Founder of Mise
About Mise
Mise is a meal planning and grocery automation app for busy families. Users build a recipe library, set household preferences and dietary rules, and Mise generates a weekly meal plan, builds the grocery cart automatically, and sends it for pickup or delivery. The result: fewer decisions, less food waste, and dinner handled every week.
Mise was founded in 2025 by Lauren, a mom who spent 2–3 hours every week on meal planning and grocery logistics. She built the tool she couldn't find: one that takes the mental load of feeding a family and handles it automatically.
The name comes from mise en place, the culinary practice of having everything prepared before you cook. That's what Mise does for your household: every ingredient, accounted for. Every restriction, remembered. Every week, ready.
Mise connects to Kroger via the official Kroger API. Each week, it proposes a meal plan based on the household's recipe library, dietary restrictions, what's on sale, and what's already in the pantry. If the user doesn't modify it by Thursday, the cart is automatically populated and ready for Friday pickup or delivery.
The platform's rules engine lets households define smart purchasing logic: buy organic berries only if they're on sale, always choose the cheapest in-stock berry variety, or flag the user when multiple options are on sale and let them decide. These rules run against live Kroger pricing every week.
